• 1949: Began his career as a dancer
  Meets Thomkins and Dieter Roth for first time in Bern (when he was a dancer at the Bern-Theater between 1954-1975)
• ca. 1959: Created his first piece of art, "Pourquois pas un Tapies?"
• 1969: Introduced for the first time the idea of a "Tableux Piège". This is a piece of art in which objects that are randomly lying on a table are glued onto it and hung vertically.
• 1970: Introduced the idea of "Eat Art" in New York City
