George Brecht

George Brecht (*1925) is one of the exponents of the international Fluxus -Movement. His studies included Taoism and translation from Chinese. His embracing of Zen Buddhism leads him to John Cage, in whose courses at the New School for Social Research in New York City he participates. Distinguishes self as an outstanding Intermedia artist of numerous international exhibitions, events, concerts and performances. In addition to various films, he publishes books such as Chance-Imagery-A Great Bear Pamphlet, The Illusory World of the Paradox and Analphabetation. For the art of studio acoustics, he realised the documentation of Hsin Hsin Ming and the speech compositions Silent Music and Unterwegs.
